We start our journey in La Serena to get to Cochiguaz and up into the Elqui Valley. Along the way we drive through vineyards and spectacular sights where water brings up life in this magical valley. Our first stop is at the Puclaro’s dam town, Gualliguaica, where the strong winds make this place special. We continue to the heights of the Elqui to a place called Piedra del Guanaco (Guanaco’s Stone) where we talk about the history and legends of ancient tribes that met at this point to exchange knowledge. We have the chance to photograph Cancana, an ancient sacred mountain. A local organic dish will be waiting for us at La Granja restaurant. In the evening, we will enjoy trekking in this place where we get the chance to see the whole Elqui Valley painted with the colors of the sunset. Horse back riding is optional.
